The first time we laid eyes on the Weber Genesis Grill, it looked just like every other gas grill out there. So obviously we had to try it out and see if it was going to perform like all the others as well. Once we got our hands on one it was time to put her to work. We grilled fish, steak, and chicken on our new Weber Genesis Grill and this is what we found.
The Weber Genesis
If you’re looking for something other than a propane gas powered grill this is not for you. The weber genesis grills has 507 inches of primary cooking available, and a 130 square inch warming rack for a total of 637 square inches of cooking space. When you compare this with other grills out there it turns out to be a lot of space. So no matter if you’re cooking for 2, 5, 10, or even 20+ people you will have plenty of space available.
When you look a little closer you will find 3 main stainless steel burners. We read over the manual to get a better understanding of what it can do, and we found that there are 42,800 BTU per hour, which makes cooking meat a lot easier. There is also a 12,000 BTU flush mounted side burner if you need to cook sauces or soups. There are also cast iron cooking grates, which provide unbelievable sear marks on the meat.
Extra Components
Even though everything above is great, there are extra components available. The Weber Genesis comes with porcelain enameled flavorizer bars, which are used to cook food evenly. These are also beneficial in keeping the flare ups down. Then there is a nice Electronic Crossover ignition system to help turn the grill on or off with ease.
Construction
Finding a grill that is easy to cook food on is probably your main goal. Weber Genesis Grills help with this by utilizing a thermometer to know what’s going on in there. Then when you’re not using the grill it’s nice to know everything looks great since it’s made from stainless steel. You can also enjoy an enclosed cart that keeps the propane tank out of sight, and the appeal of a magnificent purchase just sitting in your back yard. It’s not bulky either, so it’s not going to stick out like a sore thumb.
This is the first time we ever used any type of Weber Genesis Grills, but have spent countless hours on other grills in the past. The point is; this grill had a lot to live up to, but it definitely delivered. We especially like the built in flavorizer and thermometer features. It allows us to have everything we need when hosting a cook-out in our own backyard.
