Can I pour cans of beer into a rum bottle?

If I had a bottle of rum and I drank it all (or poured it out) and then washed it and poured cans of beer into it, would that be safe?
I want to pack it in my bag when I go visit my family for the Holidays. I figure it would be easier to unscrew a cap than to open cans of beer. It would also be less suspicious and noisy.
Would this be a good idea? Would my beer go flat?

Would it be a good idea? You’re visiting your folks and you want to sneak drinks without them knowing. Between this and the fact that you can’t go that long without it proves that you have a drinking problem.
