Turkey Burgers

Do not turn up your nose yet! This Turkey Burger recipe so moist, savory and delicious that one will not do!

Ingredients:1 lb. (93 percent lean) ground turkey, 2 slices sandwich bread, 1 cup grated cheddar cheese, 1/2 small onion, grated, 1 package Onion Soup Mix, Salt and pepper,1 teaspoon olive oil, 12 large potato rolls, Lettuce, sliced tomatoes, ketchup, & mustard

Instructions:Place your bread in a food processor and process until you have very fine crumbs, Add to turkey, cheese, and onion, Season with salt and pepper, Mix only until it is combined, Make twelve, 2-inch patties, Heat your oil in a large skillet over medium heat, Cook the patties until cooked through, or about 5 minutes on each side, Serve burgers on rolls with tomatoes, lettuce, ketchup, & mustard Place bread in a food processor and pulse until you have fine crumbs, Transfer to a medium bowl and add turkey, cheese, and onion, Season with salt and pepper, Mix just until combined, Form twelve 2-inch patties,Heat oil over medium heat in large skillet, Cook patties until cooked through – about 5 minutes per side, Serve on rolls with lettuce, tomatoes, ketchup, and mustard

Lean Seven Layer Dip

Seven layer dip is a regular addition to most Superbowl Party menus, but it is very full of fat and calories. Try this one to slim down a favorite dish!

Ingredients: 16 oz. can fat free spicy or zesty refried beans, 1 Tbsp. fresh squeezed lime juice, 1-1/2 tsp. chili powder, 1/4 teaspoon. ground cumin, 1/4 teaspoon. garlic powder, 11-1/2 oz (1-1/4 cups) jar guacamole dip, 1/2 cup chopped green onions, 1 cup light sour cream, 3 tablespoons. canned, drained, diced green chilis, 1-1/2 seeded, chopped vine-ripened tomatoes, 4 oz. shredded 75% light cheddar cheese, 2 Tbsp. finely chopped cilantro, 1/2 cup sliced and drained black olives

{Directions In medium bowl, mix together beans, lime juice, chili powder, cumin and garlic, Spoon bean mixture into a 6-cup glass serving bowl. With a spatula, spread evenly to form a flat layer. Pour the guacamole over beans and smooth until flat. Sprinkle green onions evenly over top, In a small bowl, mix sour cream and chilis. Spread mixture evenly over onions and smooth. Spread tomatoes over the top, In another bowl, mix cheese with cilantro. Sprinkle evenly over tomatoes. Spread olives over that. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to 1 day.

Chocolate Brownies

Brownies, need I say more?? Everyone loves a good brownie, and this slimmed down version will have you coming back for more

Ingredients: 5 tablespoons margarine 1 ounce unsweetened chocolate 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa 1 1/2 cups sugar 3 egg whites, beaten lightly 1 large egg, lightly beaten 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking powder Cooking spray

Instructions: Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Over mediium heat, melt margarine and chocolate in large saucepan. Stir in the cocoa and cook for 1 minute. Stir in sugar, and cook 1 minute (mixture will almost form a ball and be difficult to stir). Remove pan from heat; cool slightly. Gradually add the warm chocolate mixture to the egg whites and egg, making sure to stir with a whisk until blended well. Combine flour and baking powder; add flour mixture to chocolate mixture, stirring well. Spoon batter into a 9-inch square baking pan coated with cooking spray. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
